Ian Gillan spent his Working Week on the road in Germany with his band Gillan. In the middle of the tour, the band had to fly back to London to record Top Of The Pops because their single, New Orleans, had entered the charts.
During Terry Hall’s week he watched the Royal Wedding – Charles and Diana – on TV. ‘It was funny,’ he said. ‘It appealed to my sense of humour, especially the bit where they came out on the balcony. I could understand it if he was a dashing young prince. But he’s not.’
Kate Garner of Hayzi Fantayzee was run over on the Monday of her week, interviewed on Tuesday, watched The Good The Bad & The Ugly on Wednesday, compered a US TV show starring Spandau Ballet on Thursday, finished the recording of Shiny Shiny on Friday, had a cuppa tea on Saturday and had to leave the recording studio early on Sunday because Paul McCartney needed it.
